Income Statement

Optomed's revenue has been experiencing a decline in the last quarter, with a 8.6% decrease in April-June 2026 compared to the same period in 2025. This decline is largely attributed to a significant drop in traditional devices sales, which is a key contributor to the company's revenue. However, the recurring AI-related and other service revenue has continued to increase, indicating a positive trend in the company's shift towards a more scalable and predictable business model. The decrease in revenue is also partly due to the temporary uncertainty in the US diabetic retinopathy screening market following reimbursement discussions. Despite this, Optomed's management remains optimistic about the long-term prospects of the company, citing the growing demand for AI-enabled eye screening solutions and the company's ability to adapt to changing market conditions.

The revenue is expected to increase by 0.1 million Euros in one year from Q2 2026 to Q2 2027. This represents a 2.9% change in revenue over the same period.

Optomed's EBIT profitability has shown a significant improvement, driven by a substantial increase in gross margin, which has risen to a record high. This improvement is largely attributed to the company's transition towards a more recurring and AI-enabled business model, where a higher share of revenue comes from AI-related and recurring services. As a result, the company's cost structure has become more efficient, with operating expenses decreasing despite lower revenue. Additionally, the company's ability to manage its working capital has improved, leading to a significant reduction in cash consumption. Overall, Optomed's EBIT profitability is expected to continue improving in the second half of the year, driven by the company's successful transition towards a more scalable and predictable business model.

The expected change in Optomed Ebit from Q2 2026 to Q2 2027 is a decrease of 0.5 million Euros. This represents a percentage decrease of approximately 45% compared to the realised value in Q2 2026.
